Bio

Kelly Chang is a New York-based multi-disciplinary artist. Drawing from his experience in motion graphics, industrial design, and visual effects for film and television, Kelly has recently been exploring work in clay, combining digital tools and methods with traditional ceramics practice. This combination not only aims to expand the possibilities of the medium but also acknowledges a tie to history and cultural heritage. Kelly has recently completed an artist residency at Greenwich House Pottery in New York where he leaned heavily upon 3D scanning, 3D printing, and digital manipulation in his sculptural pieces. Both his subject matter and methods explore the juxtaposition of technology with traditional craft practice, history with the futuristic, and the precious with the disposable.
